How we design it
What actually decides a bar
Two bars can look identical and cost very different money. Here's where the difference lives.
Wet or dry decides the budget
A dry bar is cabinets, a counter, and storage — a cabinetry job. A wet bar adds a sink, which means supply, a drain, and usually venting, and that's a plumbing job with a cabinetry job attached. Both can look the same in a render. If you're undecided, we can lay the run out so a sink could be added later in the same position without redoing the cabinets.
The fridge sizes the base run
An undercounter beverage fridge is not a cabinet. It needs its own opening size, its own ventilation — these units are built to breathe through the front so they can sit in a run, but the opening still has to be right — and an outlet in a spot the cabinet doesn't block. We draw the real model's dimensions and mark the outlet, so your electrician and your cabinet shop are reading the same page.
Glass storage is a height problem
Stemware hangs, tumblers stack, and a bar full of adjustable shelves set at one spacing wastes most of its height. We plan shelf heights against the glasses you actually use, and specify stem racks under a cabinet where hanging beats stacking. It's a small detail that decides whether the bar stays tidy.
Closed uppers or open shelving
Open shelving shows off bottles and glassware and makes a small bar feel bigger — and everything on it is permanently on display and collecting dust. Closed uppers hide the clutter and close the room down a little. A reliable middle path is closed cabinets where the day-to-day mess lives, with an open span between them. Tell us which you want and we'll draw it; if you're genuinely torn, the extra-concept upgrade lets you compare both.
Matching the kitchen is a decision, not a hope
If the bar is visible from the kitchen, the safe results are an exact match — same catalog, same door, same finish — or a deliberate contrast, like the same door in a different color. A near-match from a different line reads as a mistake to everyone who walks past it. Tell us what your kitchen is and we'll draw the bar in that catalog.
If people sit at it, the heights follow
Counter height and bar height are the two standard options, and each one pairs with a different stool height and needs a different overhang so knees fit under the top. Tell us how many people you want seated and we'll draw the overhang and the seat spacing rather than leaving your fabricator to guess.

Catalogs
Drawn in real US catalogs
Bar cabinetry comes from the same catalogs as kitchens — Fabuwood, MasterBrand Cabinets, Wolf Home Products, US Cabinet Depot, JSI Cabinetry, CNC Cabinetry — which is exactly why a bar can match your kitchen door for door, and why any dealer can price the parts list as drawn.
We don't sell cabinets and we aren't affiliated with, endorsed by, or paid by any of these manufacturers. We design in their catalogs so your packet prices out at any dealer that stocks them — and because we earn nothing on what you buy, we have no reason to point you at one over another.
FAQ
Questions, answered
What's the difference between a wet bar and a dry bar?
A wet bar has a sink, so it needs supply, a drain, and usually venting; a dry bar has cabinets, a counter, and storage, and needs none of that. The cabinetry can be identical — the plumbing is what separates them on the quote. We'll draw either, and can position a dry bar so a sink could be added later.
Can you match my existing kitchen cabinets?
That's the usual request. Tell your designer the catalog, door style, and finish your kitchen uses — or send photos and we'll find the closest real match — and the bar is drawn in that line. If your kitchen is an unknown or discontinued line, an exact match may not exist, and we'll tell you before drawing rather than after.
Do you specify the fridge and the sink?
We draw them in place at the real dimensions of the model you choose, size the cabinet opening around them, and mark where the outlet and the plumbing need to land. The itemized list covers the cabinetry and catalog parts; the appliance and the fixtures you buy separately, which keeps you free to shop them.
Can a bar go in a basement?
Very often, yes. The constraints are what's already there: existing drainage if you want a sink, a circuit for the fridge, and the ceiling height or soffits above the run. Tell us what exists and we design to it — and we'll flag anything that turns the job into a plumbing project.
How much does a bar room design cost?
A fixed $199, including three free revision rounds and delivery in 3–5 business days. Rush delivery, a second design concept, and premium renders are optional upgrades priced up front.
