How we design it

What actually decides a bathroom

Bathrooms are small rooms with fixed points in them. Here's how your designer works around that.

  • The vanity gets sized last

Vanity width is what's left after the door swing, the clearance at the toilet, and the space you need to stand at the sink. So we draw the room first and then fit the widest cabinet that still leaves the room usable. Clearances around fixtures are set by your local code and confirmed by your shop — we design to leave real room, not the bare minimum.

  • Your existing rough-in is the biggest constraint

Moving a drain means opening the floor or the wall, which turns a cabinet job into a plumbing job. Tell us where the supply and drain sit today and we'll center the sink on them wherever the layout allows. When something you've asked for does require moving the rough-in, we say so on the drawing instead of letting it surface in a quote.

  • Under the sink is not real storage

The trap and supply lines take the middle of a vanity base, so a cabinet that looks like storage often isn't. The fix is drawn, not hoped for: drawers notched around the plumbing, a false-front top drawer with a full drawer beneath, or doors with a shallow pull-out that clears the trap. We show which one your vanity gets.

  • Capacity comes from the walls, not the vanity

The storage that changes daily life in a bathroom is usually a mirrored medicine cabinet, a linen tower, or a shallow cabinet over the toilet. Recessing a medicine cabinet depends on what's inside that wall, so we draw it surface-mount or recessed based on what you tell us and flag the wall for your shop to open and check.

  • Small bathrooms, honestly

In a tight bathroom every inch of cabinet depth is felt in the walkway. A shallower vanity, a wall-hung cabinet that leaves the floor visible, or a drawer bank that doesn't collide with the door swing will beat a deeper cabinet you have to edge around. If a double sink genuinely doesn't fit, we'll tell you before we draw it rather than hand you two bowls you'd hate using.

Catalogs

Drawn in real US catalogs

Your vanity, linen tower, and medicine cabinet are specified from a real cabinet catalog — Fabuwood, MasterBrand Cabinets, Wolf Home Products, US Cabinet Depot, JSI Cabinetry, CNC Cabinetry — with part numbers any dealer that carries the line can price as-is.

We don't sell cabinets and we aren't affiliated with, endorsed by, or paid by any of these manufacturers. We design in their catalogs so your packet prices out at any dealer that stocks them — and because we earn nothing on what you buy, we have no reason to point you at one over another.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What does a bathroom design include?

A complete Design Packet: a measured floor plan with fixtures in position, a dimensioned elevation of every cabinet wall, 3D renders, and an itemized list of every cabinet and part by catalog number — delivered in 3–5 business days with three free revision rounds.

Can you design around my existing plumbing?

Yes — that's the normal case. Tell us where the supply and drain sit and we lay the room out around them, because leaving the rough-in alone is what keeps a bathroom a cabinet job. If a layout you want needs the drain moved, we mark it clearly so your plumber and your shop both price it.

Will a double vanity fit in my bathroom?

Your measurements answer that, and we answer it honestly. A double vanity needs enough width for two comfortable bowls plus drawer space between them, and it also needs a second set of plumbing. Where the width isn't there, we'll show you a single sink at a wider cabinet with far more usable storage.

Do you specify tile, faucets, and lighting?

Our scope is the cabinetry and the layout. Fixtures and lighting are drawn in position on the plan and shown in the renders so the layout is buildable and the room reads correctly — but the itemized list covers cabinets and catalog parts, and you buy tile, faucets, and light fittings separately.

How much does a bathroom design cost?

A fixed $199 per bathroom, including three free revision rounds and delivery in 3–5 business days. Rush delivery, a second design concept, and premium renders are optional upgrades priced up front.
