What this comparison is (and isn't)
This is an illustration, not a claim about any specific shop — many showrooms quote fairly. It models the structural cost of not being able to compare: a captive-quote premium (the design cost and margin recovered inside a quote no competitor can price, defaulted conservatively) plus the spread that typically appears when two or three dealers bid the identical design. Both assumptions are sliders because they are assumptions — set them to zero and the tool will honestly show the owned design costing more.
